ABOUT THE EVENT

Welcome to Capital City Marathon, one of the best marathons in the Northwest. Located in fun and friendly Olympia, Washington, we feature a beautiful course with rolling hills, enthusiastic volunteers, a festive post-race event with food, music, massage and swag. We are a Boston Marathon qualifier with a loyal following of marathon veterans, newcomers and everyone in between.

Capital City Marathon Association (CCMA) is a non-profit all volunteer organization.

Runners must be at least 16 years old to run the Marathon and at least 14 years old to run the Half Marathon.

Marathon runners must maintain a pace of 14:30 minutes per mile (or faster) to complete the event before the course closes at 1:30 p.m. (approx. 6 1/2 hours). Runners unable to maintain a 14:30 pace should enter the Half Marathon.

Salish Sea Series – 2020

The Capital City Marathon is once again partnering with the North Olympic Discovery Marathon (“NODM”), the Whidbey Island Marathon (“WIM”), and Bellingham Bay Marathon (“BBM”) to form the Salish Sea Road Race Series.

Participants who finish ANY distance in THREE of the following four events in 2020 are eligible for commemorative swag and a medal: Whidbey Island Marathon (April 19), Capital City Marathon (May 17), North Olympic Discovery Marathon (June 7), or Bellingham Bay Marathon (September 27, 2020). Each event has at least three distances to choose from.

Individuals are automatically entered in the series after they have registered for each event separately. After registering for any of the events, series participants receive "partner event" discounts to the other three races:

15% of the Full, Half, 10K, 5 mile, 5K (distances vary based on event).

Individuals do not need to participate in the entire series in order to take advantage of these partner event discounts.
